Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend this year we didn't go anywhere or do anything exciting. We just stayed at home and did a fun thing each day. Friday we started yardwork at 7 a.m. before it got hot, that day the high was 97 degrees! We enjoyed running errands together and doing projects around the house all before nap time. After nap time Bridget wanted to play outside, so we introduced her to playing in the sprinkler! She didn't know what to do, so Josh and I ran through a couple times to show her and then she loved it!
Saturday morning we loaded the bikes up in the truck and drove about 40 minutes to a park that Josh found online just looking for a new bike trail. This is the one picture I took in the parking lot:
The bike trail was not at all what we were expecting. Starting out it was steep downhill and rocky! My hands were hurting so bad from gripping my brakes so hard! Then it was okay for a little bit before it turned into riding through grass, and then sand!! We had to get off and walk our bikes because it was impossible. Then we came up to a river, so we walked down and thought Bridget would enjoy that. Josh had read that there were nice, sandy beaches great for cooling off. Turns out it was muddy and Bridget did not like the feeling on her feet! So we quickly washed her feet off, put her shoes on and got back on our bikes! The rest of the bike ride was fine, except going back was ALL UPHILL!! Even Josh got off his bike, not just the out of shape, pregnant lady! While at the momement it felt like the bikeride from Hell, we were able to laugh and find humor thanks to Bridget. She was perfectly content sitting in her seat, eating Cheez-its while Josh and I huffed & puffed up this hill. She noticed our heavy breathing and began imitating us! It was so funny, Josh said "Yeah Bridget, I bet you are really tired sitting there!". Before we knew it we were back at the truck and it was all over with! Next time I think we will stick with the flat, paved trails! That night we BBQ'd hamburgers. I put Bridgets little patty in a heel of bread and she ate almost the whole thing! I've been learning that the more I make her meal look like ours, she will be more likely to eat it!
Sunday, after Bridget woke up from her nap we took her to a little splash park that Josh discovered just that afternoon while he was driving some kids home from church. They were telling him that they go there all the time because it's free! It's just this gated area at a park, and water shoots up from all different holes and the kids just run though it and play! Bridget really like it, and had fun playing with the other kids.
Monday we had our ward BBQ at a park. Bridget got to play and run around with all her friends for two hours, and then fell asleep as soon as we got in the car! Josh stayed longer to play in the kickball game. Later that afternoon we went swimming over at a friends house and had pizza for dinner! I didn't take any pictures, but Bridget LOVED swimming in a big pool! Josh and I would throw her back and forth. Josh also got her kicking and blowing bubbles in the water. Then when she was tired of being held, we took her over to the stairs and she played on those with her friend for about a half an hour! I wish I had brough my camera, they were so cute! It was a really busy weekend, but we had so much fun and we all got some good tan lines! Can't wait for more summer fun!

Easter

Easter morning, looking through her basket
Grandma had an Easter bunny that sang and danced!
She was a little posessive of it!
My sister in law Amber was out taking pictures of her girls in their dresses before church, and Bridget wanted in on the action! Of course she wouldn't smile at all:
Until someone made her laugh!
After church she did an easter egg hunt with her cousins. Still a bit too young to get the concept, but it made for cute pictures!

San Francisco

We went to California at the beginning of this month to visit family. Normally we fly into Sacramento, but this time we chose SF because it was half the price! Josh's parents came to pick us up, and we spent the day there doing the tourist things. First stop was the beach. We wanted to get some pictures of Bridget at the ocean. When we first got there Bridget was sleeping (we got 5 hrs. of sleep the night before) so I really didn't want to wake her up. Josh, Julie and I got out to walk around and take a few pictures, but it was sooo windy!! This is the one picture we got of Josh and I, and the sun was in our eyes!
Bridget woke up, so Josh took her back out to see the water.
Next was the Pier for lunch and to see the Sea Lions!
Then we went and rode the cable cars!
Next was China town. We found this little bench with this monkey on it, and Bridget thought it was so funny!
Overall we had a great day in San Francisco, the weather was beautiful and we were ready to head up to Chico to see more family!

Stingers continued

One day we met Mary Jo and the kids at all the Mall! I rode the train with them all. (those things were not made for adults!)
Maggie and Mary Anne
Bridget loved having her cousins here to play with!!
Thanks Stingers for coming and playing!

Stingers visit

When the kids had their spring break, Maggie decided to drive down for a visit!! They hadn't been at our house for more than 10 minutes, but Bridget was already interested in Lydia.
The next day we went to the Zoo!
We saw this peacock, right outside the restrooms!
I stayed outside with Lydia, while Maggie took the other kids in the reptile house. No thank you!
For dinner that night we had corn on the cob and Josh BBQ-ed chicken! We all got a headstart on our corn, while Josh cut the chicken.
Corn on the cob was loved by all!

Camping

Something I totally forgot that we did in the end of March was, camping! We were having fantastic weather in the 80's and didn't have anything going on over the weekend, so we decided to take advantage of it. We found a campground only 40 minutes away which would be perfect for our first trip with Bridget!
It was really hard to get a picture of Bridget because she was on the go constantly, which means we were too!
And the pictures we did take, were not the best...But I will post them for your entertainment...
See what I mean?
Getting ready for bed. We brought the pack n play, and she slept like a champ!
The next morning we made breakfast, and were off for a bikeride to the playground!
We had a lot of fun, one night was a good starter trip for us! We look forward to many more camping trips this summer!

Baby Bunnies

Josh was mowing the backyard last night and this is what he found.
He noticed all the fur and decided to look and see what it was. When he moved it out of the way, this is what he found:
He thought it was just two or three babies huddled together, turns out there were six! Josh moved them around to count, then Bridget and I came down to see them and he took one out to show Bridget.
The girl has no fear and instantly wanted to hold and touch one!
Turns out she just wanted to give it a squeeze! Which made Josh and I super nervous, so we were showing her how to be soft and just pet it with her fingers. She eventually did, but I didn't get a picture!
Here's the momma bunny who came back after we went inside. She sat over the hole and looked like she was nursing them! So cute!
*no bunnies were harmed in the process of this blogpost!*
