First haircut

I took Bridget today to get her very first haircut! I was excited and so was she! I just had the lady cut her ends and even it out so hopefully it will grow faster!Bridget did a great job, we had to wait a little while for it to be her turn. After, the lady braided her hair. This was after Bridget's nap so it got a little messed up. When she was all done she got to pick out a sucker, she loved it!!

Road trip

Mid-April Josh flew to Boston for his brothers wedding, then from there went to D.C. for a buisness trip. (He left Boston the day before the bombing, so glad he got out of town before all the craziness!) Anyways, I decided to drive the girls and myself the 6 hours to my sisters house in Des Moines. I was so nervous to do the drive by myself with them, but it couldn't have gone better! Bridget was GREAT! She kept busy watching movies, eating snacks, coloring and doing stickers. Mackenna on the other hand was not so happy whenever she was awake, but I would just hand her a bottle or sippy cup and even if she wasn't drinking it, she was happy to just chew on it! She only had some screaming fits when we were going to be stopping in the next 20 mins for a break or getting to our destination. I was able to do the drive with only stopping once at our half-way point. Bridget had so much fun play with her cousins, and Mackenna loved all the extra attention! The weather wasn't great while we were there, but we mananged to stay busy. Our first night there Maggie and Logan went to the temple. The kids decided to have a movie night down in the basement! Being the naughty nice Aunt that I am, I let them eat popcorn while they watched the movie! Their house rule is no food out of the dining room, and this is even worse because that couch is BRAND new. Maggie forgave me, haha! One afternoon I painted Mary Anne's and Bridget's toe nails. This was a first for Bridget and she loved it! She kept saying "Thank you Mommy, I love them!" Bridget and Lydia singing on their Karaoke machine (aka mumbling into the microphone!) Lydia is in the process of learning how to jump, because currently she just face plants it into the carpet. Funny to watch, but not so funny after the 5th time she's done it and you start to get worried! So we laid pillows down and all the girls started doing it! The girls enjoyed doing musical numbers together. Mackenna loved all the new toys to play with. While we were there, she really improved her sitting skills!

April happenings

Well April came and went in a flash! Here are some pictures of day to day things that happend last month. In the middle of April we went to Iowa, post soon to come! I love to capture the different sleeping positions she gets herself into! I love how long her hair is getting, and I enjoy doing different things with it. She is getting better at sitting still and putting up with me doing it. She still wines when I brush it, even when there aren't any tangles! On one of our Target trips I decided to try the big cart with a seat for Bridget. She liked and it lasted most of the trip. Not sure if I will get it every time though, it's pretty hard to push! On one of the warmer Saturdays, Josh got out his hammock and Bridget liked getting in it with him. She especially liked laying in it with her sister. We went to the Air Force Base over in Illinois for Josh to pick up some things, while we were there Josh showed me around. I had never been on a military base before so I was interested in seeing everything. It was really like it's own little city, and so nice and clean! It seemed very family friendly with lots of playgrounds. Here is Mackenna having her first experience in a swing. She LOVED it!

Spring??

Sunday, when church got cancelled Josh took Bridget sledding along with our friends Matt, Rachel and their daughter Annalynn. Bridget was so excited to go sledding with her friend. Tuesday we went out to just play in the yard. She loves to eat the snow, I try and find the cleanest kind! Thankfully the sun has been out all week, so the snow is almost completely melted except the piles from the plows. Next weekend it's supposed to be in the mid-60's! So excited!!

Tucanos

Tuesday night we went out on a double date with some of our good friends. We went to dinner at Tucanos, a Brazilian steakhouse. Josh and I had always heard about them, but never experienced it before. People come around to your table with big skewers of all different kinds meats. They also have a HUGE salad bar, and different kinds of sides. Josh of course didn't have any salad. haha Let me tell you, it is quite the experience!! Josh was so excited to go and eat fancy meats for dinner, I had to document it! Here Josh is actually eating pig heart!! That was the only weird thing they had, I decided to pass. It was SOOO good, we will definitely be going back again soon!

crusties

Love her milk crusties in the morning from nursing her while I'm half asleep and I don't wipe her face...something only a mother would love! She slept from 7 p.m.- 4 a.m. and she's getting 2 teeth in right now. Best baby, just sayin'...

Bitter

Bitter doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this recent storm we had!!! Easter is this Sunday, how are we supposed to do an egg hunt when there is snow?! I am ready for shorts and flip-flops!! I am tired of all the layers we have to wear just to leave the house and keeping Bridget couped up inside. I can't wait for all the park days and swimming! Okay, venting done for now...But really mother nature, NOT COOL!!!
