Sweet Girls

I am so glad I was able to go to Iowa last month and see my twin nieces. Lydia was doing so well. She moved from the covered bed, out to an open crib, gained weight, and started drinking bottles all while I was there. Catherine on the other hand continued to have long seizures, wasn't gaining weight and just wasn't progressing or doing very well. The doctors and nurses would try to take her off the venilator, but she would only last about an hour, and then need to be put back on it. A couple weeks ago my sister and her husband made the hardest decision of their lives, to take her off the venilator for good. They knew her quality of life would not be what they wanted for her, and they had to think about their four other kids as well. It was really hard to hear, but I know it is what is best for her. She was in a lot of pain, and looked so uncomfortable that I know she will be much happier in Heaven with her Heavnly Father. It was her mission to simply come to Earth, gain and body and return to Him. I'm so thankful for the Plan of Salvation and to know that I will see her again, and that she will be with her parents and siblings again.
Love you Catherine!

Fun, fun, fun!

My mother in law, Julie was here for the past week and we had so much fun! It was so nice having some company around the house and someone to do things with! Julie bought her a little swimming pool to use when it was really hot. She loved it as long as she wasn't trying to get out, then she would usually slip.
Getting ready to get in!

Lovin' the pool! This was a different day, we decided to forgo the swim suit, and she enjoyed a frozen gogurt!

We got a sitter for Bridget and had some mother daughter time getting pedicures and manicures!

Drying off with Grandma

We also went to a local city pool with some of my girlfriends and their kids from church!

I decided to take Bridget down the little kid slide, little did I know that would mean a MAJOR wedgie and bottoms almost coming off! My friend Katie warned Julie, but Julie decided to let me do it anyways and watch me struggle! Isn't she the greatest?! haha Thankfully it was a female lifegaurd manning the slide, I'm sure she saw some crack. :/ LOL

On the lazy river!

The flowers in the front yard are in full bloom now and so is Bridget. She is doing so much I can't believe it!
I just love this outfit on her with the yellow flowers!

Sewing

About a month ago my mother in law bought a sewing machine and had it delivered to my house. I didn't know about it, so I thought the UPS guy had the wrong house! She's clever like that. She said she was going to teach me how to sew when she comes to visit in June. I was so excited, but too intimidated to even open the box!
So she's been here for almost a week and we've sewn a dress for Bridget and a matching skirt for me. It's so fun and I hope to get better so I can sew all kinds of things!

The finished products

Iowa part 3- Memorial Day

In the morning we walked to the church for their ward's pancake breakfast. Along with the pancakes they also did a breakfast mix. I think it was the best church food I've ever had! I was so stuffed!
I didn't take any pics there, but this is Bridget in the stroller STANDING UP getting ready to leave.

Later that afternoon it got pretty warm so we put the sprinkler under the trampoline and the kids and Logan had a good time. I got tired of holding Bridget so I decided the put Bridget on the trampoline and she could watch them bounce. (They have a net around it so she couldn't fall off, don't worry ;) )
She had a blast

Static hair on the trampoline!

Thanks Stinger family for a great time!!

Iowa part 2

Also while we were in Iowa we spent a lot of time playing outside. Bridget is at the age where she doesn't always like to be held, and just wants to get down and crawl. So that's what I did, and she would crawl on the cement! It didn't seem to bother her. I would put her on the grass to have a softer ground but she didn't like it! She wouldn't cry, but she would look down and it funny and crawl off it as fast as she could. She liked to chase Mary Anne on her tricycle

Trying to get off the grass!

A chair just her size!

Iowa part 1

I spent three weeks in Iowa staying at my sisters house, playing mom of 3 during the day. The kids loved playing with Bridget, they had a lot of fun.
Mei Ling loved feeding her bottles

swimming at the pool for Parkers birthday

She loved the corn on the cob!

Mary Anne loved feeding her snacks

She also learned how to climb the stairs while we were there.
