18 months

A couple of weeks ago Bridget had her 18 month check up. I cannot believe how big she is getting, and how fast it is all happening! The further and further apart the Doctor's visits get, the more I realize she's not a little baby anymore. I always love going and checking in with the Dr. and hearing everything is going well with our daughter. This visit was just like any other, but the Dr. kept saying "she's active, isn't she?!". When I told her I was pregnant, she said I was going to have my hands full. I agreed, but also felt like saying "thank you, I know!" haha. I snapped some pictures while we were in our room Thank goodness for toys at the office!
waiting to get shots, and a mouthful of snacks to stay happy!
Her stats: weight: 24 lbs. 50% percentile height: 32 in. 50% percentile head circumfrance: 48 cm. 90% percentile--Say what?! I never thought of her having a large head, but then I was hearing from other moms that said even just one cm. can make it jump to the next percentile! Either way, I'm not too concerned about it! She can point to pretty much all her body parts, and is saying at least one new word a week! Sometimes-if we aren't in a hurry, I will open the front door and let her walk to the car. All we have to say is "Let's get in the car" and she will walk to it, when we open the door she will climb in and climb into her car seat! It is the funniest thing ever to watch, but I know it will come in handy when I am huge and pregnant! She is understanding alot and very good at listening-most of the time. She loves to play outside, read books and take baths...but what kid doesn't?

Fruit Snacks

This afternoon Bridget was being whiney and I didn't know what she wanted, so I set her on the kitchen counter(one of her favorite places) and gave her fruit snacks. Aren't you supposed to reward your kids when they are being a pill? It happens sometimes, just to make she and I both happy. Anyways, while she was sitting there I thought she looked pretty cute so I decided to take some pictures, and this is what I got...
wanting more
what she did when I told her the fruit snacks were all gone

Quarter of a century old

On Monday Josh celebrated his 25th birthday! Unfortunately he had to have his galbladder removed the Thursday before so he wasn't feeling 100% better by Monday. He took one more day off and we made the most of it! Josh wanted to get a sitter for Bridget and go see a movie, but we decided to just go to lunch and do some shopping. We played it safe, eating at Subway. Then did some shopping for camping gear and outdoor toys for Bridget that we had been wanting to get. After we picked up Bridget a little while later, we had to go to his follow up appointment from the surgery. These are some pictures from the waiting room, I thought Bridget looked so cute
Then we came home, Bridget took a nap. Once she woke up we set up the new water table we got for her while Josh started grillin up dinner! She kept putting her face in the water and tried drinking it any chance she got. There was lots of coughing and wet clothes!
She really likes playig with water, so I was pretty sure she would love this!
This was our dinner before: Josh treated himself to some filet mignon and veggies!
The spread after: zuchinni, squash, red bell pepper, mushrooms, asparagus
Best steak I have ever had!! I felt bad he was making his own birthday dinner, but he insisted. He loves doing it and is good at it!

New Ride

Josh and I were really into riding bikes before we had Bridget. While living in Provo and Sacramento we would go on lots of bike rides, either on park trails or just to go get a cold treat. It was something we really enjoyed doing together. We haven't rode our bikes in the last two years! First year= we moved here in April and I think by the time we thought of getting our bikes out it was too hot and I was too pregnant. And then last year Josh was deployed from April-August and Bridget was too little for any seat. Since about January Josh and I had been talking about getting a toddler seat for Bridget to put on either one of our bikes. We wanted to get a seat that goes in front, which we had found they don't sell in stores. So we finally started shopping online and found this one on Amazon, it's called the WeeRide Kangaroo child bike seat. It got good reviews and the price was good. It came a couple days later and Josh attatched it to his bike. He wanted to take her out for a ride before he got surgery the next day and knew he wouldn't be able to for a little while. I was worried that Bridget wouldn't want to wear the helmet, but once we put her in the seat she was so still and I think just wondering what was going on! Getting buckled in (her hair is a mess because I took the rubberband out so it wouldn't bother the helmet)
We couldn't get her to smile at all
When they came back from their ride I wanted to see if she would be smiling, and she sure was!
Needless to say she LOVED it and I think it will be getting used a lot this spring/summer! Can't wait!

Family of four

That's right, this October our family of three will become four! Josh and I couldn't be more thrilled!! We are so excited to add another little one to our bunch! Josh is of course praying for a boy, and while I would like both, I won't be so devastated if we have another girl. Mostly because we already have A TON of girls clothes! This is the picture we sent to our families to announce the news! Josh wanted to wait till we go out to California in April, but I just couldn't hold it in! (wow it is hard to get a 17 month old to sit still!)
I am 9 weeks today, which makes my due date October 9. Last week I had my first Doctor's appointment along with an ultrasound a few days later. Everything is looking great! I got to hear it's heartbeat, which is always my favorite part.
I know it just looks like a blob, but for you moms out there if you look closely you can see the head and distinct limbs. (and of course the quality on the computer isn't great) I already scheduled our ultrasound to find out the gender on April 27th, so we will let you all know as soon as we find out! Needless to say, I can't wait to bring home another baby and watch Bridget be a big sister!
