Goats

On Monday we went to the zoo, and what an awesome time we had! In our zoo they have what is called the Children's Zoo, and during the first hour it's free! They have a playground area, a farm animal exhibit with farm tool toys, and an indoor exhibit with all kinds of smaller animals and play stuff too! And then they will also have seasonal exhibits that they trade out throughout the year. Well as we were getting ready to leave I noticed they had a goat exhibit going on. I didn't think much of it because when I looked down at it, all the goats I could see were up high on some rocks, behind a fence. I didn't think Bridget would be that into it. But I decided to walk down the ramp and see what it was all about. Boy am I glad we did, because I was suprised to see about 15 more goats just walking around all out in the open! Bridget did not hesitate one bit, she walked right up to on and started petting it! We spent at least a good 25 minutes there just going from goat to goat, seeing every one!
She really liked touching their ears, I just had to make sure she was being soft because I didn't one to snap at her! Thankfully these goats were very tolerant of all the kids touching them when they probably just wanted to be left alone!
Some of the goats got up on the bench, and Bridget just went and sat right next to them! She was so funny how into them she was!
I love our zoo!!

New shoes

Bridget was really in need of a bigger pair of tennis shoes, so we headed to Payless and this is what they had on sale for $7! And needless to say, she is obsessed with them!! The next day after buying them, I put them on her to wear to the park. She was estatic!
I think they are funny looking, but a perfect fit for an-almost two year old! The next night, a friend came over to look at our car because it was having issues and of course it happened while Josh was at Scout Camp. Anyways, Bridget was just in a diaper outside and a couple minutes later she went in the house and when I went to see what she was doing, she was putting on her new, pink shoes!! She wants to wear them all the time!

Duck Pond

Last Saturday I took Bridget to a park that also has a pond to feed the ducks. (Josh was sanding the floors, which will be an entirely different post to come when completely finished!) Anyways, this was our first time doing this and she loved it!
Everything was going great, until a big goose came up out of the water and started walking up to Bridget! He was not slowing down, and I was so scared it was going to snap Bridgets fingers off. So I quickly threw the last piece we had at it, and took off for the playground! We went back after playing and they all left us alone since we didn't have bread, and Bridget just enjoyed watching them for a good 15 minutes! She just loves animals.

Thank you Pinterest

A while back I had a friend invite me to Pinterest, and then I never did anything with it. People were always ranting & raving about it and I never understood. While Josh was at scout camp and I had extra time in the evenings, I rekindled my Pinterest account and realized what all the hype was about! I am so thankful for other peoples creativity and posting it for me! I found lots of great ideas for indoor and outdoor activities. The only one I took pictures of was finger paiting. I bought the crayola washable "finger painting" paint so that is why she is wearing her clothes. And she wouldn't let me take them off!
She loved it and since then we have done much more painting. I also made playdough, which is by far her favorite activity!

Magic House

I don't have much of an excuse why I haven't blogged in a few weeks, except that I am now 30 weeks pregnant and exhausted. Bridget keeps me busy so when she naps, I nap! It hit me that I am down to my last 10 weeks so I have decided that I will try harder to kick my butt into gear and get more done. Besides the normal stuff of laundry and cleaning the house, I mean that I am going to start making freezer meals for after family leaves, DEEP clean/organzie the basement, maybe make a baby blanket, etc. Anyways...it has been crazy HOT here in St. Louis, so we have been trying to stay indoors when at all possible! A couple weeks ago Josh went to scout camp, so in order to have busy days we tried some new things. We went to this place called the Magic House, which is a huge childrens museum with all different kinds of things to do! We have never been there before because it's $9.50 a person, ages 1 and up! So I felt like Bridget was old enough to enjoy it and get our moneys worth. They had a sand table that she really enjoyed
A water center
She doesn't look happy here, but she was having a blast I promise!
Hard to get a non-blurry picture while coming down the slide, on the cell phone
This is just a small, small portion of what we did. They also had a tumbling area with all kinds of padding, and lots of pretend play things like a restaurant, grocery store, library, auto center, and vet clinic. The vet clinic I think was her favorite. She would take the stuffed animals out of their kennels and love on them. It was all fun until I told her she had to put them back, and she couldn't take them home! Sad day for her! I definately want to take her back, but we will keep an eye out for free days and deals next time!
